Kushed Identity

Kushed Identity

The Challenge

With the legalization of recreational marijuana just months away in Canada, this startup wanted to get a jump on creating high quality cannabis edibles. But just because something is legal, doesn’t mean there aren’t still stigmas to overcome. We needed to create a brand and identity that focused on the quality of these small batch handmade chocolates and overcame marijuana’s reputation as a street drug.

The Approach

The word “Kush” is often used to describe a high-grade of marijuana. So the name Kushed really speaks to the best quality of marijuana being used in these edibles. We wanted to create a simple package that communicated the key information right away, so there was no confusing these products as regular chocolate bars. For those not familiar with edibles or different strain types, we stated on the package how they would feel after consuming the product. The packaging is made from biodegradable plastic and the labels from recycled paper.
